I'm so truly sorry for my long haul from baking! It's been like what... four months? Due to my new commitment and the big event coming up, I really couldn't spare much of my time to bake. I truthfully apologise for rejecting so many orders of yours (i know, sooner or later, i wont even get any enquiry :( )

But i finally squeeze sometime for these:

Chocolate cupcakes top with pretty swirls!

This is exactly how I like my cupcakes to look like: simple, fluffly, soft, and pleasant. Yes, simple as it is, no fondant figurine. A bite on the soft Swiss buttercream, heavenly!

The cupcake is actually made for a Save The Date purpose. Save The Date is fairly common in the Western countries but unfortunately not in Malaysia. It is usually sent out 6-12 months before a wedding to remind the guess to save the date for the wedding.

I don't think of the receipients will forget when is the wedding now! :p

Aren't this pretty? I don't mind to have this as an wedding invitation too!

I know I know... it sounds like waaaaaaaay to early to talk about Mothers' Day; but hey it is April already! No harm to do a little early preparation. Seriously I have enquiries about Mothers' Day cupcakes even before April. Talking about planning ahead, ya?

So the Happy MoM Day cupcakes! A pale pink and purple theme, I minimise the fondant decorations as I think all mums (or most mums) will prefer something less sugary so this is a refreshing orange and poppyseed cake flavour with pretty buttercream frosting.

This is no doubt my favourite cupcake design, simple yet graceful; and it made the cupcake looks so yummy.

My other favourite: pyramid of stars. I love love love the mild pink here...

I think all MoM deserves something sweet this Mother's Day. Soft, gentle, sweet, understated, right, that's mother.

I love Birthdays, who doesn't right?

I got a call from a mother, ordering cupcakes in individual packing for her daughter's birthday celebration at school. How nice it is to receive a cute cupcake in school! How come I never last time?? Oh well...

So I made a magic wand..... with sparkles...

and a butterfly in the garden...

... and a cute little pressie, and by now, I suppose you realise the theme colour is pink and yellow...

... a tall swirl of buttercream with flowers... So sweet, eh? I also had crowns, hearts and many more.... I was imagining the children comparing their cupcakes in the classroom, whose cuter whose nicer and so on.... hahaha...

Cupcakes packed in individual casing and if you look carefully enough, you can see the sticker I printed for the birthday girl. Hmm.. I wish I am part of the birthday celebrations! I have not receive any cakes for my birthday for the last 2-3 years. : (

Hello..... (*waving hands*)

I knew I had abandoned this blog long enough and yet I still receive emails and calls enquiring about the cupcakes, ahhh... I am so blessed.

I had just whipped and sent off a set of cupcakes to a customer, she contacted me just a couple days ago to order the cakes and she emailed me the design that she wanted. So I improvised a little bit and tada~~~

I call it "Obsessed with Hearts" cupcakes, lovey and dovey.... it is still sweet nonetheless...

"Will you...." (no one single girl will say no to you if you propose with a box of, or even just one, cupcake! Right girls?)

Oh... my favourite of the bunch... cute little rosettes

It might sounds cliche but it is that simple and straight forward....

The customer requested a card with message to go with it, so I have it done with the similar colour of black, red and ivory..... and the little culpit.

I love to make people happy with cakes, because I do.

Hello all! Christmas came and go, had a fair share of the Chinese New Year cookies and layer-cakes and waved goodbye to the roses and chocolate of Valentines' Day; and we really need something to cheer up our days ya?

So hey the beach bears!

It's a birthday cupcakes set for a girl who adores the colour blue! I love the piping of buttercream which makes the frosting looks like the wavy sea!

The sun bathing bear! With the blue bikini somemore! :D

My favourite! I couldn't help to laugh at this clumsy bear!

Aw oh..... A bear which is buried by the sand. We all still like to play this when we are at the beach right?

The smell of the Chinese New Year cookies is still lingering around but hey all, we are welcoming the St Valentines' Day now. A day which is usually associated with roses, chocolate, candle-light dinner and soft toys; and now, I shall add one more on the list, the Cupcakes!

6 pcs of cupcakes, seated on a white ceramic plate, in the shape of a heart. That's my creation for all Valentines out there.

I decided to go without any fondant figurine this round. I think Love between two destined people is sweet, fuss-free and straight forward. So a beautiful swirl of buttercream is all we needed on a cupcake today.

Unlike the classic chocolate cake which I used for the Xmas and CNY gift sets, I opt for the vanilla cupcake, filled with hazelnut cream and frosted with yummy strawberry buttercream. You gotta try the strawberry buttercream to know how great does it taste! Yumm...

It's the merriest time of the year now, isn't it? Roads are jammed, lights are up, music are loud, everything is in red....

I've just summed up a major part of my baking marathon and only some left tomorrow which is for my own home. This time every year, I am busy baking various cookies and cakes for my immediate families even before I started my little cupcakes venture. So to top it off my list, I managed to squeeze in some cupcake orders in my schedule.

Hence, a very big thank you to those who placed your order for this Chinese New Year and a very big sorry to those that I have to reject your order due to my tight schedule. Order shall be resume by 2 February.

Once again, Happy New Year and hope it is a year filled with love, peace and health.

Which Girl Left Her M.A.C. Behind?

Hello all!

I've really prayed hard for a good weather recently. It had been raining cats and dogs in my city for the past few days. I hate the wet weather and it made me lazy. What a reason?!

In fact I have started my CNY baking craze. Like past years, I will have to bake cookies and cakes for a couple of my extended families and it usually won't stop until the day before the new year's eve. It is just that for this year, I still have a couple of orders to manage and hence time is essence for me.

In between of all, I managed to bake this set of Cosmetic Themed cupcakes set. So here it is:-

A mixture of the cosmetic figurine and simple roses designs.

A blusher from M.A.C. One of my favourite item among the cosmetic range, I mean in real life. I can't seem to leave my blusher behind. :p

A nail polish, on another hand, is something which i can totally live without...

What is a collection of cosmetic if it is without the lipstick, right?

Despite all the fussy fondant figurine, I include a couple of simple designs this round which I personally adore.

The Birthday Ducklings

Before I begin my Christmas baking craze, I helped my friend with her son's 1st Birthday's party. Right, CUPCAKES! What else eh?

It is said that the baby boy reacts when he sees the image of a duck and he (or to be precise, the family helped him) collects the rubber duck toys, hence the theme is the quack quack ducklings.

She did ordered a big birthday cake for the birthday boy and all the cupcakes were given away to guests as a party favours.

On top of that, as Christmas is just around the corner that time, so in order to add a touch of the xmas-y mood, I baked him some gingerbreads! I gotta say I love these gingerbreads, the taste of ginger is just right for my taste. (It is also the same gingerbread that I used for the xmas gift sets)

Along with the gingerbread, I also throw in some petite cupcakes to fill up the cocktail corner. It is actually quite fun to see all my goodies to be well displayed during a dinner / celebration. :)

I love all the bakings, I do!

Hello all! After spending days working on the Christmas Cupcakes and some post Christmas goodies and countless petite cupcakes, I am so so glad that this order came my way!

It is a Birthday cupcakes set with a mixture of standard and petite size cupcakes for a little girl named Syasya.

A tortoise! This is my favourite among the whole bunch.

A snail and a multicolour caterpillar... Never thought they can be so cute and child-friendly eh?

A duck, the princess, a small birhtday cake and a fraction of the lollipop! Such a colourful and jolly bunch, no?

I enjoyed baking and decorating them so so much and feels great of the result turned out. I hope the birthday girl and her family enjoyed it as much as I did.

It's the begining of a new year and this year could be a very important and significant year of my life. With my soon-to-be busy schedule, I still hope that I can do all these bakings and cupcakes for everyone out there, and to put a grin on people on every occasions.

I love Chestnuts! Again, cultivated by my late granny cooking skills, I love chestnuts soup cooked in the Teochew way. I never knew it can be made into a desserts before I encountered it in a Hongki's bakery in Sydney!

I always always wanted to bake a cupcake with chestnut in it, so this is it, Vanilla cupcakes with Chestnut cream as frosting.

I purposely did not crushed the cooked chestnut finely so that it will add a crunchy and nutty texture to the frosting. Can you spot the chestnut bits here?

And surprise! Chestnut puree as fillings! Double yumm... My pure indulgence in a lazy Saturday afternoon....

The soft and creamy buttercream made the cupcakes look so yummy. The buttercream which I adapted in all my cupcakes are meringue buttercream which is less sweet and taste heavenly. One bite and you get hooked!

How many of you do associate yam with grandmothers? I do, sometimes! :p I remember my grandmother used to like yam in any form, pastry, cake, rice, deep fried, steamed etc etc and I did once ordered the Yam Fudge Cake for her birthday.

Hence, the Yam Fudge Cupcake!

Yam Sponge Cupcake topped with a generous layer of Yam Fudge. I like the fragrance of fresh yam in the fudge layer and when served chilled, it is the best summer dessert ever! So refreshing.

Sprinkle with dessicated coconut to add an extra crunch to the cupcake. I used to think that this is (almost) a traditional cake that not many younger generation will like it, but I was wrong! Everyone love the soft and fluffy yam sponge cake and the cold fudge layer!

This is my favourite cupcake all the time! Lemon Cupcake with Cream Cheese frosting! The refreshing lemony cupcake neutralised the rich cream cheese flavour, so everything is so perfect.

I add on a swirl of buttercream on top of the cream cheese. I've been head over heels with this meringue buttercream which is less sweet than the traditional buttercream lately. Taste perfectly but guilt-free! (Ok.... not so! :p)

Hari Raya is almost here and all we (or just me?) can think of is Kueh Lapis! And as different as you can see from here, this is a different Cheese Lapis which is 80% cream cheese based! Aww... how sinful is it?

This lapis is awesomely layered with thin cheese cookies, and made it double cheese layers!

And the best is, you frozen it and eat it like an ice-cream cake! To further indulge, drizzle some chocolate sauce over it and ....... words are insufficient to describe anymore!

A Bouquet of Love

Ever wonder since when did our city is swapped with the Dragon Fruit craze? I adore the exotic colour of the red Dragon Fruit and always think that it serves perfectly as a nature colouring. So everyone, the Dragon Fruit Buttercream frosting!

The purple colour is so yummy and the black bits of the dragon fruit give an extra texture to the buttercream. Oh... not forgetting the lemon cupcake too! Refreshing and pair off perfectly with the buttery frosting.

The buttercream here is actually the meringue buttercream which is very much an unsweetened version compared to the traditional buttercream. I never like buttercream frosting (I always opt for cream cheese frosting or chocolate ganache) until I found this!

I made this batch for my mum's birthday and the Dragon Fruit frosting pretty much was inspired by her new found love in this fruit! And I think she is pretty sick with my batches and batches of cupcake so I made her this:

Every girls like a bouquet of flower at any times of the day! But deep down we all know that it is not so practical, so what about a bouquet of cupcake?

A buttery crust with a lemon fudge layer, the sweetness is neutral by the sourness of the lemon, well balanced!

I love the lemon-y taste of these lemon bars, especially when it is served cold. Very refreshing! Gotta love the bright colour of these goodies, great for a summer dessert. (Well, we have summer all round the year here in Malaysia...)

Served by dusting some powdered sugar and voila! Enjoy!

I am not a fan of the traditional gift hampers which are usually wrapped in a pyramid shape and filled with the box chocolate and prawn crackers. Well, in times which a gift is needed during festival seasons like Gawai, Hari Raya, Christmas or Chinese New Year, I prefer to send in a basket of baked goodies!

When I was little, I used to attend my friends' birthday parties with the hope to bring back a little goodies pack, which usually consists of candies and lollies, some stickers if I am lucky. As time goes on, I am way passed the age of receiving the goodies bag but I still love to receive a favours or two. : )

Egg lover I am! I love egg in any form, hard boiled, soft boiled, sunny-side up, scramble, poached, egg sandwich, egg salad, curry egg, egg fry with vegetables, and hey now, I am head over heels in love with rabbit-shaped egg!

Awww...... adorable right? So cute that made me hesitate for a moment before eating them.

Remember how the basket of red eggs remained untouched on a full moon or birthday party? Oh.... situation would not be the same anymore if you served these shaped-eggs. It comes in four shapes: rabbit, bear, car and fish!

and Yes! You can tint it in colour should you or your parents don't like plain white eggs on a celebration. Since it is de-shelled, your guests can gulp it down during the reception as an appetiser!

This egg's anatomy is to show the thin colour layer if you are worry about the over-dose of food colouring. Other colour is available too!

Timeless Piece

Marble Cake, yes, timeless it is. I've been eating this marble cake since I was a kid. I think we can call it the mum's recipe marble cake, everyone in both my family and extended family love it!

This is a mini flan - like marble cake, I can bake on a whole cake upon request. It is rich in butter and eggs, only high quality butter is used for this marble cake; hence you can smell the buttery aroma even before you sink your teeth in them!

I do come across a lot of elders who are not used to the modern-days-bakery like cheesecake or the rich buttercream frosting, and hey this would be a great option for them. I do bake on a low sugar upon request to suit your tastebud and lifestyle preference.

It just bring back the good ol' memories, so ya, a timeless piece i reckon. Savour these original and simple marble cake eh, with a glass of kopi-o (yes, not cappuccino nor latte...).

I like cheesecake, the New York Cheesecake with rich and creamy texture or the No-bake Cheesecake with a ice-cream -like body or the Japanese Light Cheesecake which is light and airy (guilt-free, almost!).

And here it is, a Cream Cheese Cupcake!

I add another layer of sour cream topping solely because what is a cupcake without topping, right? And yes, I tinted the sour cream blue!

I actually wanted a light sky blue but it has turned out to be a ... Tiffany's blue! Brilliant also, who doesn't want a Tiffany's wedding band? (Okay... I don't mind a Elsa Peretti Open Heart necklace though )

The colour is pretty, I love the dollop of strawberry flavoured chocolate and the pearl-like dragee. Just simple and just elegant, fruss-free.

A layer of crushed biscuit, a layer of smooth and velvety cream cheese (it is 80% cream cheese and no flour added), and a generous sour cream topping... Yummy isn't enough to describe these sweeties!

the phantom of OPERA

I started to bake this Opera since a few years ago. It was a big big hit during Chinese New Year and I always say this is a limited edition cake as only special guests like close family members or good friends will get to taste it.

I usually bake it in a whole cake form but decided to try a individual serve this time round and man, it tastes as good as ever!

It is actually almond sponge sandwiched with chocolate ganache and coffee cream. I like to add a few drop of liquour (rum, kahlua, whisky....) to the chocolate ganache and add an adultry touch to it. It is best served when it is freezed, just like the ice-cream cake!

Your guests will be over the cloud nine if you serve this Opera as the after dinner dessert. Or even better, with a cup of freshly-brewed coffee.

I do like something colourful and fun for a party. For example something like this, the Cookie Pop!

It is chocolate-covered cookie made into a lollipop shape. Different coating options are available, desiccated coconut, colour sprinkles, chocolate rice, & etc.

Arrange it in a vase or tall glass and it will look like a decoration piece for your party and it is edible! I just love the multi purpose of it. Do you?

These is a brown sugar chocolate chips cookies and I purposely cut down the sugar and hence, this is a fairly healthy treats. The sweetness of the chocolate chips were neutral by the not-so-sweet cookie dough. Yummy yummy yummy!

A couple of these cookies, a glass of ice-cold milk, a good book; what other better way to spend a Saturday afternoon alone? Tell me.

Everyone, Cream Cheese Brownies! These are HEAVENLY. What else can I say?

A change for the taste bud from vanilla and chocolate to ...... Lavender! Lavender suddenly came all over the news boards, as lavender teas, lavender shower cream, lavender lotion, a lavender trip to Hokaiddo... and let me present you with a Lavender Cupcake.

I skipped a rich frosting and opt for a simple sugar frosting and topped with some dried lavender bits. Simple and nice, just like summer breeze.

I did not grow up watching the Disney Winnie The Pooh and Friends. I am shy to say I only come across them when I was in secondary school. I am so attached to this sincere yet innocent pooh bear ever since. I got to say these cookies are so of a perfect keepsake.

I am sure not only young toddlers, children, teenagers will drool over these cookies, but adults will too! It brings out the little girl in everyone! It is so wonderful when served during a get-together or a party.

Hello all!

I've been avid baker since young and was motivated by my mum's good old baking notes when she attended baking class like 30 years ago?! ( I must take photo of the really old notebook to show here...)

I used to bake a lot for my family and friends but only from recent years that I started to cater for the need of edible favours during occasions like weddings, birthdays, anniversaries & etc.

I've been to weddings or parties which sent me home with nice (or some not-so-nice) non-edible favours, which will sit in my drawer for months before I threw it away. Nonetheless, I will really appreciate a nice packet of chocolate chips cookies or a nice slice of brownies, and happily munch it away. The sumptous taste will linger on my tastebud and I will feel the warm and thankful message from the host. (The pre-packed blunt or sugar-overloaded fruit cake is not included here, :p)

The old saying of "The best way to a man's heart is through his stomach" is never wrong, isn't it?
